Attempting to shape healthier lives that have the ability to indulge within their freedoms from cardiovascular diseases and strokes is the main purpose of the (AHA) American Heart Association. They have been fighting with every ounce of strength against heart disease since 1915, but recently the organization has reached out offering first aid classes and CPR. American Stroke Association, whom addresses the prevention of strokes, has strong ties to the American Heart Association.
The AHA uses a series of social platforms to reach followers, supporters, and viewers. Pinterest is their primary visual platform, which allows the public to be engaged with their cause, since it still remains moderately new. It is amazing that the organization has a total of 14,765 followers as well as a 27 boards that are well informed about the cause.
Primary reasoning why the specific social platform, Pinterest is so overachieving basically since this particular organization is used by the youth, which is unfortunate because they are one suffering from this heart disease due to obesity and diabetes. If you’re over weight then the body also has the ability to produce abnormal body fats that induce abnormal amounts of fluid to the heart, causing the disease as well. When the body’s glucose or blood sugar levels are too high, it influences the breakdown of food then transforms it into glucose, which in time is transported throughout the body. The cells that are moving throughout the body uses a hormone, insulin, to transform glucose into energy. This process is Diabetes being one of the primary influences for early death, CHD, stroke, kidney diseases, and also induces blindness. According to the American Heart Association journal “most patients with a BMI between 25 and 30, lifestyle modifications including diet and exercise are appropriate. Diets should be modestly restricted in calories; evidence suggests that obese patients who have slower rates of weight reduction have the same long-term outcomes as patients undergoing more rapid weight reduction.”
When other nonprofit organization are focused on and compared to the AHA, it visible to see how much more connections and communications with the public there is. According to the American Heart Association they are initiating “a new national awareness campaign is using a mix of YouTube videos and social media platforms to encourage all teens to be the first generation to end tobacco use in America for good.”
