Charity water is a non-profit organization that provides an essential that everyone in the world needs, water. Through donations and fundraisers they provide clean water for many third world countries. The way charity water do their campaign is one of the main reasons on why they are so successful.
Just like many organizations charity water has a twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Through there many people get information on what country charity water is trying to help and how countries are doing now with the donations from charity water, the link to their personal website is also on there in case anyway wants more information. The most important social network I think is Instagram and charity water also has an account on there. Instagram is the new Facebook and Twitter in the social media. Pictures are a thousand words and this app is a quick place where you can upload pictures and give a couple details about why the picture is important. People can accidently go through the page by going to the explorer page and seeing that a charity water picture is on the popular feed for the day. That can attract the most random people and then they would tell their friends about the organization.
Charity water has over a thousand pictures and more than 225k followers. They provide information on where the picture is taken and show faces of people who are generous about the donation given to help them get clean water. Not only do they show the people receiving the water but they give shout outs to the people who donated the money or their birthday. That’s another strategy that caught my eye, when people give up their birthday presents and make it a donation. Instead of receiving presents and money that they don’t really need, they tell friends and family to donate to the website as a birthday present.
I like the way they campaign because they don’t do much begging about donating the money. There are several ways to help the organization and people always like having options. With the birthday donations, people get their friends and family in on the deal. This organization is spread by the voice of the people and there is no better way for information to go out than hearing it through the vine.
