Just incase I am still unable to contact my group I wanted to publish my piece separately to receive credit.
Preemptive Love Coalitions' Mission Statement: We work to unravel the effects of evil that were wrought by Saddam Hussein’s genocidal campaigns, by years of sectarian conflict between Sunni and Shi’a Muslims, by ethnic struggles between Turks and Kurds, and by the Iraq War. We give people over “here” a tangible opportunity to save a life over “there” and to see “those” people as exactly that: people. Humans. Sons and daughters. We are all more than the images we receive from the professional media. It’s not us helping them get over their differences. It’s us becoming reconciled with us. Yes, we are optimistic enough to believe that when we see people less as other and more as brother these “global issues” might start to change too. And if they don’t... well, we are still committed to making change in the neighborhoods where we live and work.
Youtube Platform:
On the Youtube platform I believe that we should engage directly with the people in the community. I want to focus on what the community knows about the middle east and then go into more information about ways our community can effect the circumstances over in Iraq. I would also like to present the scope over how children are being affected by the situation in Iraq and how Preemptive Love is helping to provide these children with the services that they need. Visually, I believe it is important to present the knowledge, or lack there of, that our peers and people in our community possess about international problems, more specifically the current situation the children in Iraq are facing. I plan to engage with students, teachers and community members to get the content and engagement I feel is necessary to help impact Preemptive Love Coalition.
