Charity water is a great non-profit that incorporates a necessity for human life. Water. I particularly love organizations that strive to help those in need of the bare necessities in life, food and water. In the Google hangout I saw that Paull Young is very passionate about what he does with this non-profit organization and gave me some inspiration as well. The story behind this organization is also very memorable and selfless. Donating money on your own birthday is something that is out of the ordinary, as we usually like to receive money or gifts – as we see it as ‘our’ day.
Now, this organization supports 2,545,000 people! This organization was founded in 2006, so being that it’s pretty new they’ve got to hit the ground running with any social media platform to raise awareness. On their site I found that the home page is aesthetically pleasing and it’s great to see so many donating as well as that donation will be matched up to 1,000,000 dollars! Charity Water’s Twitter and Instagram really struck my eye. Their interaction and updaes keep their audience updated and engage me in a sense that I want to see what this organization is up to almost everyday. With the September donation campaign I believe the use with the hash tag #septembercampaign on Twitter allowed the organization to connect to potential donors outside of just their own website. The use of their Instagram is also something I like to continually look through as each is updated pretty frequently. Charity Water is a great non-profit that I fully support in efforts to provide people with the necessity of clean water for those without access. I believe that this organization will continue to grow with social media and hopefully prosper to the fullest extent.
