The nonprofit organization that I decided to discuss is Direct Relief. Direct Relief is one of the most popular health non profit organizations because of their popularity on social media and Google. Their advertisement on social media has created a lot of good support for the company. Direct Relief is currently providing aid for those who were affected by the Ebola epidemic. Direct Relief focuses on providing medical assistance to people who are affected by natural disasters, poverty, and much more. Direct Relief is very big on Facebook and many other social media platforms. On Facebook they are verified therefore, they have many supporters and are accredited. Their Facebook page stays up to date on how Direct relief is helping the people who have suffered from the Ebola crisis. Their page has many pictures and great post. I don't see a lot of videos on their Facebook page. Videos are great way to get more supporters so I definitely think they should fix that. Furthermore, on an advertisement standpoint Direct Relief is overall doing very well.
Forbes magazine rated Direct Relief as the top 50 largest charities for their incredible use of advertisement. One of the best partnerships Direct Relief has teamed up with is Google. As a result of partnering up with Google, Direct Relief has received more supporters than ever. Direct relief differs from other non profit organizations that I have studied thus far by them having so much popularity. I haven't studied an non profit organization that receives more recognition than Direct Relief. The company has been around since the 1940’ s and has received many awards since then. Besides the Forbes award, Direct Relief has also received an award for being ranked number four on the ratings organizations “10 Top-Notch Charities” list. That award is very significant in that Direct Relief was put in a category with the most highly performance charities today. Also in the NonProfit Times, Direct relief was ranked number one as the “biggest mover” of 2008. Furthermore, Direct relief has received over 80 awards since 2002 for their accomplishments in charity fundraising. Not to mention they are accredited and have partnerships with many organizations and government agencies. Overall, Direct relief is definitely the most popular organization I have studied thus far.
