So, at first when I started taking this class, I was a little concerned at the work load. Not that it was hard, simply that there was a lot of it and that I didn't know with my kind of schedule if I was going to be able to keep up. Like i was active on instagram and twitter before hand but my posts were usually quick snippets of things i liked or jokes with other friends i never really was hyper active on social media before this class, and i started to get pretty good at it. However, I panicked really bad when you mentioned group work. But after working with the group and getting our goals together I realized that this class was starting to be kind of fun. And then I started to be pretty good at that too! I actually used the 19 page outline of our strategy to apply for a PR position in a club and got the position! I am very grateful and surprised that I am using the social media skills and understanding that I received from this course in every day now and in my new "job." I also like that I learned a lot more through this class about the going-on's in the world. I learned a lot about other countries and other places that need help from places like World Pediatric Project and The Red Cross and I learned about places that were already being helped by these non-profits. I also simply learned a lot about Non-profits, their work and how many there are (even those in my own backyard!) Overall, I learned a lot in this class and I am recommending it to a lot of my Mass Comm friends (both PR and Advertising) simply because you don't know what kind of things and skills you can learn through this class.
