If someone asked me six weeks ago what I knew about social media, I would have fumbled around some words that meant I knew a little. Now, I can definitely say I have gained a much better of social media and a better knowledge of how to approach the problem of social media. I also learned a lot about non-profits and charities. Not only did I learn about them and what they were, I learned how they work and how much social media is needed for their survival. I learned the best ways to approach social media and that having good public relation skills is a great benefit when performing a social media campaign. The most important thing I learned is that social media, especially for non-profits, is always growing and changing, There is always some new way to approach a problem, whether its a new platform or a new update that changes how we view the old platform. One challenge I found with this class was the group aspect of the class. It was really hard to communicate with people who never get a chance to have an actual classroom setting together. I found it really complicated to generate a project with out a classroom setting. After taking this class, I know much more about the social media realm. I think this is a great benefit, even though I think I may not be going into the advertising world, but it is great to understand social media and ways to develop content. I feel like understanding is the best benefit I could have gotten out of this class. I am very glad to finally be able to understand social media more than when I started because I feel it will help when dealing with my own social media.
