I have learnt a vast amount in this class from everything I have learnt from the google hangout to reading other students response's on different assignments. I learnt a lot about the different charities and great initiatives that are happening in Richmond which I did not know about prior to this class. I thought it was also a good idea to have other people who were not in the class being able to be involved. I think it diversified the class and broadened the perspectives of the class. The google hangouts were great also because they allowed us to have some visuals to the class and they were very interesting.
It was great that we were able to engage with people who are what we aspire to be, it is very encouraging. Especially as being a college student we tend to just go with the motions and are very rarely engaged and involved the way this class has allowed. It was great for me also to read different perspectives of people, it showed me a different way of thinking and also allowed me to learn and educate myself further. I think working on the campaign was a great experience because it allowed us to help a cause while receiving a grade which works great for me!
I think working with a group was a good idea also because it allowed us to experience once again what life will be like when we are working in the real world. Having to deal with different personalities and the different ways people write and communicate is important to learn at this point in our lives so that we are easily able to accommodate that in the real world.
This is the first class that I have taken that had made me post things on my own social media. I thought it was interesting because it really allowed me to explore weather this is something that I really wanted to do as a career. The answer is yes! This is the way the world is moving, even though research I have learnt that so many companies use social media which I didn’t know before. Even working with my group through facebook and google drive, we met just once in person and yet still finished this class. I also loved this class because it was online and allowed me to be able to work full time-yet I was still stimulated just as much as I would have been if I was in a class.
