When I first started the course I really enjoyed some of the google hangouts and discussions that were assigned to us. The week that the group discussions started was where the class started to get a little bit more confusing. Our group was super organized thanks to our group leader but I was just confused about how we were supposed to be all collaborating, therefore I missed the first two group assignments and got zeros, the week after I got into it and started to get the hang of what was going on and was in constant communication with my group members.
The social media engagements were not hard, but I think maybe misinterpreted. It said to tweet, once a day Monday-Friday about anything having to do with the class. However, even when tweeting once a day about the class, even providing links and interested content pertaining to the class, I would still receive 4’s on some of my weekly twitter grades, which makes no sense since I was providing links and other interactive content that I felt was important. When another peer in this class asked why she wasn’t getting the right grades, it was said that we were supposed to be tweeting about content pertaining to our client, which was never stated so that was a bit confusing. Overall it wasn’t a huge deal just because it was only a small portion of our grade, but I did enjoy finding content about health and social media on a daily basis.
The lectures were super informative and so were the Google hangouts. Some of the material stuck in my head and really thought me how organizations can effectively and efficiently use social media platforms to grow, expand and create their brand or mission. I am walking away from this class more confident and with a great social media campaign for my portfolio.
