I found this course to be very useful and interesting. I liked how this course was laid out because you almost had the same deadlines every week. I really liked having the same things due every week because it gets you into a trance, which helps you separate your work each week. I really liked the fact that the course was 6 weeks, but still 3 credits; it makes the rest of your semester easier, but your still taking a full class load.
The course overall had it positives and negatives, definitely more positives than negatives. I liked the fact that we had to tweet and use Instagram each week because it made us actually look up things to tweet about, or useful pictures to post on Instagram. I also liked the Facebook page because it was a good place to ask questions, and we always got a fast response. The part I didn’t like about the course was the multiple websites and their layouts. I know the rampages were messing up, but towards the end we would be using both and it would be hard to try and find what you’re looking for.
During this course I learned a lot of information about a bunch of different non-profit organizations, and what they do to help the world. Also doing the weekly reflections allowed us to find and research other non-profit and for-profit group, and familiarize yourself with them. I enjoyed watching the Google hangouts because you get to hear about the organization from the person that is with the organization. The lectures were also great because it showed what we had on the agenda for the week, and they were really easy to take notes on.
The most challenging part of this course was definitely the multimedia production and the strategy. The hardest part about this was trying to figure out who was doing what part. It was also really hard to find days to meet up because everybody has a different schedule.
This class will definitely help me in the future because I know I will have to campaign for a company or organization at some point in the future, so it’s good already have knowledge in knowing how to do it. we can always look back on this class to see the steps we went through before we got to the final strategy.
