I have only taken a handful of online courses at VCU and I must admit, this one was the most work I have done. For an online class, a short online class, I feel as if this was a lot of amount of work. I understand that because it was a short class that we had to do just as much work as we would have in a normal class. The Google hangouts never really worked on my laptop, so I had to borrow a friend’s for every one of those hangouts. So that was definitely an obstacle I came to with this class.
For the group project, I felt as if it was really hard to get organized and understand what exactly it was that we had to do. For the paper, I felt as if two sections were very similar and it felt repetitive. Also, the length of each section (for the ones that were over 3 pages) it was difficult to come up with content, especially because it was supposed to be singled spaced. As for the presentation, I found that hard too. Our group had sound, so if we get points deducted I will be very upset.
As for what I learned in this course, I feel like I learned a good amount. But, being In college today when we have to do online assignments almost every other day, I feel like I already knew a significant amount of material from this course. For the Twitter and Instagram posts, I felt as if we were graded a little too harshly on those platforms, I tweeted once a day and posted two pictures to Instagram a week, and yet I still had points deducted. I feel as if we should have gotten a little more lee-way on those two assignments.
