Overall, I did enjoy this course. It truly opened my eyes up to what it takes for a non profit organization to be successful through social media. I never thought about how me retweeting a tweet or favoriting a tweet can help an organization become more well known. Also, I enjoyed being able to help the World Pediatric Project because I did like this organizations mission to help children around the world receive medical care. It made me think that I could actually be good at helping people with campaigns. Also, I liked the concept of what the project was supposed to do, but it was difficult at times to get group members on the same page. I would suggest not doing a group project for this course (1) because it is online, and (2) because it is hard to correlate ideas with other members.
I also liked that we got to hear from different organizations and what they do, and what their struggles are. Just by hearing what they said in the google hangouts made me want to look up more information on these organizations. Also, I think that this was my favorite part of the course because there was always a sense of the surprise element. We never knew who was next to speak to us about their organization.
When the class initially started, I did not like how things were explained. I definitely had to read the syllabus at least 4 different days to make sure I was understanding what was required of me. However, once the class got rolling, I got a grasp on it. I think that the Twitter postings was a bit tedious. I think as long as we had posted at least 5 times in the week, then that should have been okay, versus us having to tweet every day, because I do not use Twitter, so it was a constant reminder for me to have to update twitter.
I am glad that I switched into this class over another. I will recommend this to others as long as I know they want to help others and become more aware of people that need exposure.
