If I had to describe my experience in this course I would say that I had mixed feelings about it. Although this course was online, it was one of the harder online courses that I have taken during my time at VCU. It was not hard because the work was hard, but hard because there were some many things that we had to remember to do. It was hard for me to tweet everyday because Twitter is not a social media platform that I use everyday unlike Instagram and Facebook. Trying to find something meaningful to tweet about was also a bit hard especially when I had quite a bit to say. Another thing that was hard for me was the group project. I am sure that I am not the only one that doesn't prefer to do group project but if that was one thing that I could have eliminated from this course that would be the thing. Everyone doesn't have the same type of working style so trying to accommodate everyone without others getting frustrated, to get the work done, was a little rough. It started off a little rocky in the group for me but it got better as the weeks went on. Although I am not a Mass Communications major I feel like a gained some good insight on the different things that social media tries to portray. Hearing about the different organizations was probably the best thing for me during the course. The second most interesting thing was reading about other organizations that my classmates wrote about when we had to write discussion post. I learned some things about known organizations that I had never known of before. Overall I enjoyed this course but I will definitely think twice before choosing to take another Mass Communication's course.
