What a whirl wind of a class! It was so short, but seemed to take up a lot of my time for awhile there!
I thoroughly enjoyed this course. The structure was a little hard to get used too, but after the first couple of times reading the course content and website it started to come in like second nature. I believe it would be a lot harder for students or participants who were not technologically savvy or had trouble using computers/internet.
The most new information that I learned came through the Google Hangouts. Which also happened to be my favorite part of the class. Not only was it convenient for my busy schedule (being abel to watch them at anytime), but learning from industry professionals and leaders in the field of communications I hope to go into had immense value. I enjoyed listening to most of the talks, and while I didn't engage because I usually missed the "live" hangout, I felt that I was able to learn and feed off of what the speakers were teaching/saying.
The challenging part was the course structure, and the final project, of course! It was just tough to get everybody involved and interacting, as people in the same group are still having to work remotely because of geographical restraints.
I will benefit most from this course the knowledge I gained from the Google Hangouts and the ins and outs of nonprofit social media/ communications. It really makes one appreciate the work that these professionals do, even with limited resources.
Great course overall, and it doesn't hurt that it is three credits over 40 days, even as daunting as that sounds.
