As we concluded Week 5 in Global Media and Health, we were able to come together as a team and discuss what we could not achieve in this week’s assignment. A google document was created in which majority of the pages for the draft were completed but not fully and completely revised. The last few pages need to be added, I could not go back with enough time to add the rest (I believe it was only 2 or 3 things to add that were left). Thanks!
Measurement strategy Proposal: In this week’s lesson, we were able to learn about measurement strategies. As we have been proposing a potential social media campaign for our client, World Pediatrics Project, we are going to be proposing a measurement strategy of how they should monitor social media. WPP should look beyond the number of likes they get on each social media platform because although it will get attention, it needs to have a good message out there. In order to measure the number of failures, WPP has to be able to truly define what they are doing, what their goals are, define what kind of audience they want to be targeting, what their funds look like, what they want to reach in regards to funding, and be able to repeat this process continuously every month or so. Each non-profit out in the world is able to monitor what they do in the social world due to consistent checking of their platforms and repolishing what they need to fix. In order to measure these things, they can check the number of followers they have, the number of likes they are getting on photos and posts, the number of retweets, number of favorites, youtube views and even comments. For example, the popular page on Facebook called Humans of New York posts photos on the regular and the number of likes they get increase each day due to the message behind the photos and the stories they share. To get high quality social media measurements, WPP will have to request their audience to share their own feelings about their organization. They will have to suggest requests on LinkedIn to establish more professional connections.
Tasks for other group memebers:
One person will set up the final project document on google drive and share it with the group and instructors (Already done by Mehtab)
One person will start working on the multimedia presentation portion of the project.(done by Louis)
One person will go in and REVISE the draft!
One person can go in the final draft and add pictures to the document (**This is really important!!!**)
Tasks to complete in week 6 (This will obviously need to be done by the time the draft is done)
One person can talk about what was left
One person can add in what we need to complete next week.
Personal reflections-
-Working with this group has been good. I feel like we could have done a better job at communicating with each other. We got off to a rough start but got everything together and submitted assignments on time each week. We all contributed a good amount of input for the project while others might think they did it all themselves. I set up the final document draft but I didn’t mind doing that at all, infact I’m glad I was about to do it on time rather than not doing any work at all. I honestly haven’t had any problem working with anyone in this group regardless of what might have happened. It’s just very hard to communicate with a group and conduct a project in which we aren’t physically meeting as a class. It definitely took a toll on everyone in which communication was hardest to figure out since everyone has their own schedules.
