Accelerated Cure Project for MS (ACP) is a non-profit organization, which is dedicated to accelerating research efforts to improve diagnosis, to optimize treatment and cure multiple sclerosis. This disease doesn’t have a known cure but they have found treatment options that really assist the symptoms of the disease. This is all due to progressive research and ACP has made some very strategic initiatives. One initiative is the Multiple Sclerosis Discovery Forum (MSDF) this is a new and interactive forum for a virtual community. It connects and educates investigators who study MS and also other demyelinating disorders of the central nervous system.
The goal of MSDF is to shorten the time it takes to create more innovations and discoveries to beat MS. It creates an open research environment that is useful for the generation and exchanges ideas about causes mechanisms and potential cures for MS.
They also have another program called opt-up and it is a large scale, real world treatment outcomes clinical study and collaborative research program, which optimizes treatment of MS and to better, understand the disease. This organization does an amazing job with putting researchers and thinkers together but if they had more supporters it would create more funding which in turn would make their research capabilities bigger.
I believe ACP does an amazing job with reaching out to people in the field of science and researchers but they are lacking in supporters. Their Twitter is very under utilized and could bring in many more supporters if they reached out more often. They have such an innovative tool the “multiple sclerosis discovery forum” that I would think they would want more traffic to be brought in through Facebook and twitter.
They don’t have an instagram but their pinterest is actually quite big and it gives ways to donate and come to events they are having. I also noticed their Facebook feed is updated almost everyday but not quite. I think if they improved their frequency this would create more followers. All the things they post are very interesting and would be appealing for people to go to because they are fun events. For example, an all-star event in Fenway park with the sponsors and donors.
