For our fundraising strategy we will try to implement a video tag on Instagram in which we will feature short videos or gifs of diverse individuals tracing a heart with their finger over their heart, and then they point to the camera offering a sense of connection and support. In additon to the hand motions, they will say the phrase "Show me your heart_______."(that is where they will add in the names the people they tag to do the video next). Once the individuals have created the short video, they can tag their friends asking them to create their own video. If the people choose not to create a video they can donate to directly to the cause. They will also be encouraged to use the #operationh2h as a caption. In order to generate response documenters, volunteers, nurses, surgeons, or whoever can record Iraqi children and any of the volunteers making the same motion back to those raising awareness indicating that the message was received well, and they hear what we are trying to do. Team members Clare Chang and Sohana Waqar will make the preliminary videos.
We will spark some donations through Facebook posts of stories of real children and operations in collaboration to a GoFundMe page at least 3 or 4 times a week. In order to spark conversation on Facebook Alexis Stroman and Keith Kaufelt will facilitate discussion, ask questions, and share it on Facebook.
For the multimedia component on Instagram, we will have a hashtag album made under the name #operationh2h and updated regularly so people can see that the coalition is functioning and saving lives. The photos posted will each have a link in the caption which will direct people to the "make a donation" page. The photos will be posted on Instagram at least once a day in the early afternoon. These photos will give the audience a quick visual and a bit of information that they can share across social media platforms. Connor Wood and Anthony Hunt will make these photos, which will be used by the group as part of the Instagram engagement portion of the class.
In order to address those who have already made donations, we can post "thank you" shoutouts on the Twitter account. Twitter will also feature facts about Preemptive Love Coalition, the movement, the children in Iraq, and the surgeries, which will generate conversation pertaining to the new hashtag trend. It will also keep people up-to-date on any breaking news concerning any of the topics mentioned above.
