TSWGO= This Star Won't Go Out
This is a non-organization that seeks to help families with children who gave been diagnosed with life-threatening cancer. They say in their mission statement that the money goes towards families would likely be in tremendous debt and stress with the treatment cost of their child's disease. They aim to help the children get the care that they need and deserve and also help out the other family members
who are effected by the disease as well. I knew a little about this organization but after further research I found out it has close ties to two books. One being the title of the organization that was about a girl named Esther Grace Earl and another book that i believe many have read "A Fault In Our Stars" by John Green. John Green is the man who brought me to this organization. Along with his brother and other volunteers they have founded organizations called Project for Awesome to End World Suck. Their only mission is to raise money for non-profit organizations. They donate 100% of the money and they donated to TSWGO with their amazing support and fans. Most of the articles related to TSWGO are about the book and i found little articles solely on the organization. Which i posted one article on the book which illustrates the start of the organization.
This organization does a fantastic job along with the help of Project for Awesome in engaging people in social media platforms to give it forward. They do not immediately ask for donations on social media but leave it up on the website to donate if you please and at your leasure as discussed in the lecture. They have a running Facebook page, as well as a Twitter account and is on the visual platform. They also run a tumblr URL which we do not go over that much but I think most of their image is through that website. They post videos on their website and through Youtube of their playlist to get their mission out and let people know what they are all about. I think they have done a pretty good job of the strategies that were discussed like matching gifts and raising awareness in people.
