Team 1: #WPP #HealAChild
We decided that World Pediatric Projects main goal in our strategy was to raise awareness of the organization and its efforts in the Richmond Virginia are. To do this we are going to do profiles of the children that WPP brings back to VCU Children’s Hospital. In these posts we will create emotional connections with followers giving them updates of childrens health during their stay at VCU Children’s Hospital and use the hashtag #HealaChild and #VCUChildrensHospital as well as tagging both organizations. We then thought that we should gather facts over the different types of illness that plague children within a certain age group in Central America and the Caribbean and how this organization has overcome certain trials to help children receive the proper health care. We will provide information on how the organization not only provides surgeries to these children but train and educate people there so they can provide care for themselves in the future. We can do this through profiles of WPP workers in Central America and the Caribbean, profiles of patients, and info-graphics. The last thing we decided to do was to cut out the use of the hashtag #KidsSelfies, it is not a bad hashtag we just believe that by using one hashtag across all platforms they will have greater brand continuity.
Our Mission: To provide them with a strategic campaign in which a new social media board of directors to monitor each social media platform. The following platforms will be used: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, and Pinterest. (A)In one of the Campaigns we will gather facts over the different types of illness that plague children within a certain age group and how this organization has overcome certain trials to help children receive the proper health care.(B)We will provide information on how the organization informs people on how the different types of ailments and how it affects children and what parents and guardians can do to prevent such ailments from being getting serious and potentially destroying the livelihood of such kids We will use one of the social media platforms as a means in which the organization can indirectly keep in touch with people would have been affected positively. (C)As well as how the assistance this program has provided update on how far the child’s condition has improved and how one's donation goes a long way. On social media page they can discuss on how their director was named humanitarian of the year by the American Association of Orthodontists and how contributions have help push the organization forward.
Facebook:
Our team will use Facebook as a social media platform in which we will use #healachild as a way to advertise and spread awareness about VCU Childrens Hospital with World Pediatrics Project. We will tag both organizations which will really help the advertisment portion of it. We will be able to not only add photos, but videos and meaningful stories of each child and share their unique story.
Instagram:
We can use instagram to post info-graphics and maps of illnesses and how they affect Central America and the Caribbean, these can be accompanied by stories of how WPP has helped reduce these illnesses through their medical treatment and education in the area. We can also use Instagram to profile individual patients to create an emotional connection with our followers. As with our strategy we will use just the #HealaChild hashtag but to create more awareness in the Richmond Virginia area we will have special profiles on children that WPP has brought back to VCU Children’s Hospital for extensive care. For these profiles we will tag VCU Childrens hospital in all posts as well as WPP and use the VCU Children’s hospital hashtag along with #HealaChild.
Twitter:
We can talk about how their organization we can use it informs people on how the different types of ailments and how it affects children and what parents and guardians can do to prevent such ailments. As well as include programs that help to educate both children and parents in disadvantaged areas. Twitter is a direct way to reach the community. Non profits can empower their audiences to make a change. It is also an incredible way to keep audiences updated and informed about the subject. Twitter also offers twitter ads that can be helpful for organizations that want to get followers. The organization can use a “smart” hashtag so that like-minded people are able to find each other and promote the non profit too! Twitter can prove to be extremely helpful when trying to reach a goal!
Tumblr:
Tumblr could be a very critical portion of this campaign. There are often successful nonprofit campaigns on Tumblr depending on the content that they post, so this would be a good platform to reach our audience. We would cross post images from Facebook and Instagram, but with each one write a longer story, because when it comes to activism on Tumblr, many users are very interested in being fully informed on the stories behind the pictures on this visual platform. The RVA scene is very big into Tumblr, with one of their main offices being located here. By using multiple hashtags (#RVA, #VCU, #WORLDPEDIATRICPROJECT, #HEALACHILD) we can make the posts very searchable and accessible to users in the Richmond area. Post content could include any high quality images of VCU Children’s Hospital and World Pediatric Project working in conjunction with each other.
Pintrest:
Pintrest would be a great platform for us to post pictures and links that users will not forget about. The whole concept of Pintrest is that it is used as a message board in a sense. We can post pictures about current projects of the World Pediatric Project and this will allow people to remember things that the organization is doing as well as helping them stay updated on all of the various things that their donations will be used for. Pintrest is used mainly by women so we could use pictures that are appealing to them, such as photos of children that the World Pediatric Project have helped so far as well as using cute quotes and other children and world-related post to build a connection with them before they begin to make donations.
