Nicole is going to focus on writing up and proposing a detailed social media strategy for the World Pediatric Project. The strategy is going to contain sections for each social media platform that the organization should be using, as well as detailed explanations for how they can gain a better following on all of the selected websites. An example of the outline for this portion is something like this:
Twitter
Facebook
This is just a quick example on how this portion of the outline will look. Other platforms will be included, such as Instagram, Tumblr, and possibly the new social media platform Ello if it seems to fit their needs.
Lorynn is going to focus on fundraising techniques for the World Pediatric Project and the progress of the campaign through tracking, evaluation and measurement. One aspect of a fundraising strategy can go along with the campaign itself, having people click on a link that takes them directly to a donation site or having them use a tailored hashtag after donating to gain awareness and momentum for the campaign. Tracking could potentially be done by analyzing the campaign or social media platform and community growth weekly, or even through online tools such as google analytics. Surveys could also be conducted to measure online community growth and awareness of the organization.
Joi is going to work on the table of contents and the introduction for our campaign strategy. The outline is pretty self explanatory. We will list the order our strategy will go by, including the names of people who are working on what. The outline will consist of what is to be expected in our campaign strategy. Furthermore, the introduction will be much more detailed. In order, we will talk about the major components of our strategy and explain how each component will be beneficial. We'll use bits and pieces from each persons essay to help with the introduction. The outline and introduction will work together as the beginning layer of our campaign strategy, as well as a form of organization.
Madeline will bring together specific examples of content from our team’s campaign as a whole on the platforms we choose- tentatively Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Tumblr, Instagram and possibly Ello- and give an in depth explanation of our strategy and how we went about driving higher engagement and awareness across the various platforms. In addition, how our strategy served to further the World Pediatric Project’s cause will be described in depth. This section will become more in depth overtime as we further develop and adjust our strategies on the various platforms over time.
Alison will focus on the development of a multimedia element to showcase the client. For this part of the project we will take advantage of the images provided by World Pediatric Project on Flickr, manipulate them, and add minimal text using Adobe Photoshop in order to create a series of stills for a soon-to-be WPP Instagram page– which we will briefly mention in our future direction/thoughts section.
We have decided to divide the work as follows:
Title page (1pg) Madeline A. Miller
Table of contents (1pg) Joi Hamm
Introduction (1pg )Joi Hamm
Social media strategy (6-8pgs): Nicole Czaja
Fundraising strategy (1pg) Lorynn Holloway
Tracking, evaluation, and measurement (1pg) Lorynn Holloway
Team social media campaigns (5pgs) Madeline A. Miller
Multimedia production (1pg) Alison Raymundo
Future directions/thoughts (1pg) Alison Raymundo
Names and contact information (1pg) Alison Raymundo
- How to go about scheduling tweets, what those tweets can contain, when it is appropriate to cancel them
- The use of hashtags
- Engagement between users and the project
- Cross-posting between platforms and a good strategy for doing this, when it’s appropriate, etc.
- Ways to boost and promote posts, maybe developing a small budget plan for this purpose
