As a group we decided to incorporate the goal of the World Pediatric Project of becoming more visible in the Richmond area into our campaign. We believe that it is great that the World Pediatric Project does wonderful things to help children, but how good is it if people in the area are not aware of it? With the Richmond Community aware of their work, WPP can get donations, volunteers, ideas, etc. As a result we decided to name our campaign “Localizing the Project”. During our campaign we will incorporate the mission of WPP and what the city of Richmond loves into one.
First we want to start off by bringing awareness to the project through social media. Social Media sites such as Instagram, Twitter, and Tumblr will be our main targets. With these sites we will be able to use visual media (which is a strong point for WPP) to show people the real work that they do. On these platforms we will incorporate the hashtags “ #WPPRVA #HealKidsRVA #LocalizingTheProject” and their recent movement “#HealAChild”. Using these hashtags consistently on these platforms, and reblogging/reposting off our own social media sites will bring attention to the Richmond community.
Since the city of Richmond is big on the arts we decided that we will research and reach out to two local organizations that work with kids Art180 and LiveArt. Art 180 ART 180 creates and provides art-related programs for young people living in challenging circumstances, encouraging personal and community change through self-expression. Live Art is an inclusive arts education program for students of all abilities (with and without disabilities). Although these programs are not dealing directly with medical care of kids, it still deals with children in the community. Having a connection with established youth programs such as these can help WPP and the awareness of their project. It will localize the project.
Below is a timeline of the next steps that we will take to pursue our campaign:

Create the platforms
Research different organizations to reach out to ex. Art180
Keep in contact with group members for updates
Research different strategies to execute campaign
Week 5:
Reach out to orgs on social media
Post pictures of work done by WPP on different platforms
Incorporate the Hashtag method to bring awareness
Incorporate personal stories on the social platforms
Work on getting more followers-reblog-repost
Week 6:
Presentation of Project-Creating a Video
