For our group, Group 15 for the Preemptive Love Coalition, we decided to come up with a campaign with the combination of the two ideas we had previously. First, we have the Heart Challenge. For this, we have someone list their top three fears and challenge himself or herself to face one of them. They are to record themselves doing this and after they have finished, they are to challenge someone they love to do the same. Anytime anyone does this challenge, they are to include the hashtag #saveaheart. If anyone is unable to complete this challenge, they have to make a $50 donation to Preemptive Love Coalition. Not only will this bring donations to the organization, this will also bring awareness to it too. We are also including a print ad of this with a heart we are specifically making for this campaign. Just like how ribbons are associated with breast cancer, we want to make this heart image a sort of branding for this challenge.
We’ve divided our tasks amongst the four of us who has been participating in this specific discussion:
Serina is in the process of developing the print side of the campaign. She also came up with the idea of doing pins for people to be able to wear or even bumper stickers that people can put on their cars, a kind of real life badge of someone who has taken on the challenge and succeeded.
Rae is going to monitor the Twitter account for this campaign. Monitoring who is doing the challenge and putting up examples of people partaking in it and doing a kind of highlight of “Look at this person who did the challenge”.
Danielle is in charge of the Facebook page. The same concept of the Twitter page, but this is kind of the grounding of the whole campaign. Yes, this is supposed to be a fun and connecting challenge, but we also need to remember what all of this is for. This is for Preemptive Love Coalition, and we are raising money to help these kids in Iraq get the heart surgery that they need. We will include facts, stories, pictures, etc.
Me (Ashly), I’m in charge of getting the campaign started. I will be the first person to participate in this challenge, and my job is to get others to participate too. I will be working closely with Rae and Danielle to get these videos and pictures up on the social media channels and try my best to get as many people to participate as possible.
