Having so many resources around us many times we take it for granted and do not realize how fortunate we are. Having water that is safe and clean to drink is a luxury in many countries. Charity water was made to educate and help with getting more clean water around the world. On there website there is a fact that unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation kill more people every year than all forms of violence, and war. People have to be hydrated it is apart of our bodies biology and without it we die. In desperation people have to drink water that is unclean and unhygienic resulting in large numbers of deaths. I think that is is a great approach to look for other water projects and provide long lasting water and sanitation services. This gives people who may not have the funds but have the passion and the drive a way to help them help others.
I did really like that they have a vimeo, not many organizations have a vimeo because it takes time and effort. It does give charity water a niche because the videos that they create are engaging and interesting. Living in a world where we have to be constantly stimulated having videos is a great way to get their purpose out to the people.
Charity water is very engaged in social networking, it tells me that it is important to them to keep their followers aware of what they are trying to accomplish. They have a great following with hundreds of pictures and videos with about 225 thousand followers. They make it a point to show people where the money is going and how the contribution and donations by the public is helping save life. We do take having clean water for granted and are not aware of the vast amount of people who are dying because of unclean water. I do also love that they have a store on the website which sells shirts with "charity water" logo on it, I think that is innovative way to get their message out there
